IM
So today I was going through my pictures, and I came across this one that I had forgotten about. I took it of my computer screen, when I was IMing Samantha, right after she got her new computer. It made me realise how much I miss talking to her. Then I set it in my group of photos that rotate as my desktop, so it's there right now.

This entry, I am sorry to say, may be my last for quite a while, at least the last photo entry. You see, dear Reader, I am going to Russia later today, and I do not know if I will be able to upload pictures.

I also apologise for not posting anything recently. I was in Boston visiting my grandparents, and once again, there was the problem of uploading.

But now I am going to post some odd pictures that I like that I took over the past few days. None, I think, merit much explanation, save for the general fact that I have never, until Saturday, photographed water, and I'd like to do more of it. The first two were taken at Rabbit Pond, in Andover, Mass. Supposedly, Humphrey Bogart got thrown out of Andover for throwing his English teacher into Rabbit Pond.

And now I shall go to bed.

Sorry I haven't posted any photos in a while, but I haven't had a continuous internet connection while I've been here in Boston, and I haven't downloaded any pictures I've taken so far onto iPhoto. But to whet your appetite, dear reader, I've decided to post some pictures that Graham took of my adorable cat, Ribbon.

Today was a nice day, dear Reader. I went into New York, visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art, saw the Stephen Sondheim musical Assassins and then came back to Mendham on the New Jersey Transit. I walked from the Met to Broadway, where I saw Assassins and then from there to Penn Station. Thus, I did a fair amount of walking in Manhattan, which is an activity I enjoy doing. My camera also enjoyed it, or at least it received a lot of action. I took 176 photographs, eight of which I determined worthy to be viewed by your eyes. I personally particularly like the second, the sixth, and the eighth.

Cheers.

Today was a lethargic day of no photography. Perhaps that will change by tonight, but I haven't touched my camera today. So, because my mother requested that I send her photos from 13 June, I have decided to post them. I did not take the second or the third pictures, my brother did.

Weekend Adventures

The Hudson from West Point
The Roosevelt's Grave
The Sky
View all 6 photos...
Dear Reader,

I have returned from upstate New York. It was an interesting trip. On the way up, we visited West Point, which is good for a visit and not much else, and then went to the Roosevelt Home and Library, which is well worth a visit. Then we continued up to Lake George, which is full of tourists, and spent Saturday there, before returning back to Mendham, via another stop at the Roosevelt house (which we didn't see the first time round) and a Vanderbilt Mansion, which is just next door.

None of the photos above bear much explanation, save the last one. On Saturday, I took a rowboat out onto Lake George, around the island that is in the fifth picture. But as I started to row back, the wind picked up, and I was quite unable to get back to the west shore. So, after rowing for about an hour, and staying in the exact same place, I hailed a passing motor boat, and the helmsman (?) driver (?) was most amiable, and gave me a tow back. And that's my story that I should keep to myself when lingering with the Midshipmen in Annapolis.
